Vinyl Love...

Ok. So I have drank the Kool-Aid and it's all over but the cryin'.
   Here is my first vinyl project with my new Cricut Maker.  I love it!  I've had this bed tray for a long time and it almost went to the curb alert free stuff last week.  Then I realized the top is a smooth shiny surface and the rest was history......
  It was pretty easy.  Remember to weed before you use the transfer sheets.....learn by experience....lol.
   Off to make something with fabric.

Hello

Just a quick note.

The weather has started to change.  No more hot days I think.  It was in the 40's two nights ago.  60's, maybe 70 today...too cool for me, but I do get to wear my sweaters again.

And I get to think about crochet and knitting more.

I have been knitting more these days, not that I don't love my crochet, I do. 

But.....I have once again drank the sock Kool-aid and started making a pair....

I arrived there via  Grocery Girls Knit  and their video podcast.  They are amazing!  They are funny and real.  Two sisters who decided to do a podcast a year ago and now have 17700 followers!  What!!!

Go right now and watch them, do not pass go, do not collect $200.  Be aware though, they are enablers...in a yarny-awesomeness way.  

They have me going to my LYS today to see what they have and Staples to get another binder for all the new great patterns I have been acquiring...to make...soon...as I get more yarn....OMG!

Hopefully next pic will be of one finished sock.  I really want them to be done by the end of the month to be in their  September Sock Bash.....really for the giveaways....you know.

August 5, 2017 I'm Back...........

Hello

Just a quick note today.

I hope to be back to the blog at least on a weekly basis.

I need a place to record all the great crafty things I like and see and play with.  There have been so many great new things that I can hardly stand it....

The new Cricut Maker for one...

Can you just stand it!!!???

They launched it this week for a couple hundred (? exact # unknown) awesome crafty folks who got to see the unveiling and got to play with it!  I would have given my next born son to have been there!  (HaHa!)  ....and they all got one at the end of the event!!!!  OMG!

This link shows the whole introduction with the Easy Press and the new Maker machine....can I just say I was GLUED to the screen!!!! 

Make Something You Love

I am in LOVE!!! And I will have one.....

....it's just a question of whether I can wait until October 3rd when it launches on HSN with Anna Griffin or in August when it goes to JoAnns....hum....they snuck this image into our email last week...

Never mind a 'j-o-b', THIS is what I want to do!!!

 This is what I am passionate about, all that I think about throughout the day and before I go to bed at night.  I know it sounds so corny, so, "ok so she like to 'craft', can you stand it?!"

It IS my everything.

This new Maker Machine will combine and revolutionize how so many of us craft AND sew!!!....Wait did you hear that?!  SEW!!! Oh yeah.  It will cut your fabric....and the best part...BEST PART...is that it will MARK your patterns with all those little triangles and 'place here' marks with a washable marker.   OGM!!  Pinning and cutting...DONE!!!

I can't stand it.

...So much for a 'quick note'...lol

Anyway....

Just a quick note...

Yes, I am a Rockwood Soy Co. Founding Consultant.

It is a wonderful, (currently) small company that makes all natural soy candles.  They are made from soy that is renewable and harvested here in the USA.  And they are made by hand.  The company is young...founded in 2012. 

This year (this month!) they will be launching their website.  (WooHoo!!)

The fragrances are sooooo yummy....Apple Harvest, Autumn Spice, Gingerbread House, Brownie Batter Cupcake and Blueberry Cheesecake (My new favorite!) just to name a few.  There are 33 'Classic' scents and 4 'Nature Spa' scents.

  

We have large, medium and small jar candles (similar to the other guys--only with more wax per jar and NO --ZERO toxins).  We have wooden wick Crackle candles.   We have tea lights, room sprays, melting blocks and out signature Biscuit melts.  

This year starts our new signature hand-painted warmers.  Only 1000 of each made and a new one a month.  Painted by a local Pennsylvania artist (our company is located there).

And yes we have a cause:  

Rockwood Soy is committed to raising awareness and donating to local pet shelters.  Purchases of our Biscuit Melts, Room sprays or Donation Bundle will provide treats, food or toys to a local shelter.

Sleep fast

     Quick note before sleep.  Craft bag is ready to go and suitcase is almost ready.  Bedtime now (for work tonight), then shower and frantic run through the house for last minute stuff.   Then after work tomorrow heading to 'Manch-Vegas' for the CKC Scrapbooking convention.  I am volunteering this weekend...for some great loot and look at some great new stuff.  Wahoo!

Another Cold Sunday ......

Good Morning all.

Another cold morning here...actually it started out in the 28*--heat wave here! 

The sun is ever so desperately trying to come out and it is windy...by the sounds of my wind chimes. 

Laundry is in, dishwasher is running and the tax papers are here next to me....doing my taxes today!

No crafting until they are done.

I'm actually late this year.  Usually they are done and gone by now...lol

I got my new Cricut Explore this past Saturday and am loving it!!  There is a big learning curve here and I am determined to get it!  It took a while to get my Expression down and I know I can master this one!  Here is an 'Un-boxing" video for you:

Graphic 45 Challenge is done!

Yay!!! 

My mini album is done.  I took the Graphic 45 February mini album challenge and finished!  

I used G45 French Country paper, die cuts and stickers.  I also used photo blanks from DCWV, Liquid Glass and Flip Flaps from Close To My Heart, misc. brads and Xyron adhesive.  

The size and pages are the same.  The binding is different---I used my Cinch to bind mine and my layout is a bit different.

Where are my photos?

Just a quick note....As I was trying to post pics last night....ugh....IE 11 wouldn't, Google Chrome wouldn't and alas after down loading Firefox I was finally able to get them in.  Never had this problem before and I tried all the 'Explorer' tricks I could.

  All this because I was unable to see many pics that I had long ago added to Blogger via my phone.  They were gone.  And some of them are still gone, some I can't remember what they were?!

Trying to remedy this, bear with me.  Should you see any places where there should be a photo and there isn't, drop me a line and I will try to fix it.   Sorry

More progress on the Graphic 45 Mini Album

Hello, me again.

Here is a mini video of my progress so far of my mini album for the Graphic 45 February Challenge: Topography Mini Album. 

Not sure if I will be disqualified because I used a manila envelope that was a bit thicker than a file folder, but it was all I had.  Oh well.

 But I am using my French Country paper pack, embellishments and stickers from G45. 

I have 'Cut the Paper'!

David, do you hear me....... (inside joke).

It still needs to be bound, which I will do with my Cinch instead of rings as well as the fun part.   That is when I get to pick and choose all the stuff to put in it--stickers, embellishments, and photos---If I do put photos in it.

Graphic 45 Mini Album Book Base

     Graphic 45 posted a 2014 challenge to make a mini album.  And I thought I should do one....lol...of course I should!  Mini albums are my favorite thing to do right now so no big challenge here, just fun.

    And here is the first part: the book base.  It is supposed to be made with file folders but I didn't have any so I used chip board manilla envelopes.  It is thicker but that's OK.   There are 3 pocket pages and 7 plain pages.
     Now the fun part to decorate and embellish.   Oooooh yeah.
